– Dr. Tamara Abbett
Dr. Abbett graduated from Ashland High School in Ashland, Oregon. She began her dental careerat the age of 17 as a Dental Assistant for a local dentist. She continued working as an assistant for 13 years while doing her undergraduate studies at San Diego State University, and received her Bachelor and Doctorate in Dental Science from the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Abbett has practiced dentistry in Medford since 1992. She loves living in the Rogue Valley, and giving back to the community including the Southern Oregon Humane Society where she served as Board President, the Children’s Dental Clinic, Donated Dental, and the Oregon Mission of Mercy (MOM).
Continuing education is a top priority of Dr. Abbett’s. She attends dental workshops and seminars throughout the year. Her focus is through Spear Education in Scottsdale, AZ, where she also mentors other dentists.
Dr. Abbett has two beautiful rescue cats, one from Mexico and one from C.A.T.S. She also has a joyously exuberant Labradoodle named Olivia.
Being healthy and fit is very important to her. When she is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Abbett enjoys cooking, walking, hiking, cycling, swimming, and reading.
Dr. Thompson grew up in Arizona and Utah. She attended Arizona State University where she received her degree in Marketing in 2011 and met her husband. She then attended UCLA School of Dentistry, graduating in 2015. She decided to become a dentist when she was 8 years old!
On vacation a couple of years ago, she and her husband fell in love with the Pacific Northwest, so moving to Medford was the next adventure for them. They have enjoyed exploring lakes, covered bridges and historical sites in Southern Oregon.
In 2012 the couple rescued their dog, Marley. They think he is a Chihauhua/Dachshund/Terrier mix—essentially a little fur ball that loves playing ball and going for long walks.
When not doing dentistry or spending time with her husband or Marley, Dr. Thompson enjoys doing crafts. Crocheting is a favorite and when she runs out of projects she spends time searching for something new on Pinterest.
