Sure you know that you should drink eight glasses of water a day. But do you really know why? Our bodies lose about 68 ounces of water daily due to perspiration and urination. That water loss needs to be replaced daily. When water is not replaced in the body it causes dehydration which can lead to: confusion, dizziness, fatigue, forgetfulness, headache, muscle weakness and/or an elevated heart rate.Remember that we’re talking water—just plain water. Other liquids can help replenish the water in your body—but plain old water is the best remedy. Interesting fact: dehydration is the number one reason for hospitalization in adults over 65. Drink up!
